The Chocolate Robot has turned out a treat.
Moving into June we will be releasing our latest beer - American Graffiti 3.9% , blonde, with plenty of Amarillo,Citra and Simcoe. Plenty of orange and lime flavours.
After a few experiments on brewing a Chocolate Orange Stout we realised that the the dark malts, hops and chocolate outshone any orange flavour. Mixing orange with stout in whatever form just didn't work. Best left as a something to eat. So having done the work on a Chocolate Stout thought it would be a good idea to go for it. It's got the following malts - pale, dark crystal, brown, light chocolate, dark chocolate and Caraffa Special B. Cocoa Powder and chocolate shot. Waimea and Mandarin Bavaria hops. Brewed out to 5.0%. Looking forward to trying it.
April and we have just brewed Yakima Chief, a recipe used just once before about a year ago. Golden using Ahhtanum and Mosaic. 3.9% we liked it so much it had to be brewed again. Looking forward to the next beer in the pipeline, a Chocolate Orange Stout.
Just brewed one of our favourite beers - Hop Devil , made Cascade, Citra, Ahhtanum, Mosaic, Amerillo and Chinnok. Been brewed quit a few times and always with 6 hop varieties from the West Coast, never the same twice ! Can't wait to see how this version tastes.
Went to Leicester Beer Festival this week.New venue - Haymarket Theatre which was very impressive. Tasted some great breweries beers including Clouded Minds, Manchester, Southwark , Heavy Industry Twisted Barrel and Shiny. Really good selection and a chance to appear on stage !
Brewed a new beer using Mandarina Bavaria but this time it's red and 4.3%. Should be plenty of 🍊 orange. To be called Red Coyote.
Tried a new beer yesterday -Neapolitan milk stout by Sagatuck brewery USA. Lovely and full of strawberries and chocolate with hints of vanilla. Food for thought !
